Gulf Bank was one of the first Kuwaiti Banks to be established after the independence of the State of Kuwait. It was incorporated by Amiri Decree No. 44 on 23rd November 1960 and commenced business on5th October 1961 with a capital of 24 million Rupees, equivalent to KD 1.8 million and 50 employees from a rented flat in Fahad Al-Salem Street ?Kuwait City. The bank relocated its head office twice, the first in 1964 to Abdulla Al Salem Street and then in 1974 to where it is today on Mubarak Al Kabir Street. The capital increased over the years up to KD 82 million as well as the number of staff as it reached over 700. The bank managed to reach a leading position in Kuwait Banking community through creative management, technology, and product innovation. The management structure represents the combination of highly experienced Kuwaiti and expatriate executives. This combination of management structure creates an image synergy of resourcefulness and creativity. The main business of the bank is Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury & investment Management and International Banking. The IT support is rendered by the Support Services Group.
